Writer’s Scholarship Program

A further important objective of the Foundation is to support talented emerging Victorian- based script writers by providing a forum where experienced directors and actors can workshop scripts at various stages of script development. With support in taking their scripts through the drafting process, writers have an increased chance of success in producing work of a very high standard.

The Award -

  • The Foundation will allocate an annual amount determined by the Foundation to a script development program for an emerging Victorian script writer;

  • Selection is based on the quality of the script (at a minimum 3rd draft), letter of endorsement from an industry professional, the writer’s ability and understanding of the value of the collaborative process and the writer’s  clarity of purpose as to why the program would benefit the next steps in the process;

  • The scripts will be reviewed and assessed by award winning feature film director, Sandra Scibberas (lecturer in narrative at The Victorian College of the Arts) and Kim Krejus, Artistic Director and Managing Director of 16th  Street Films.

  • Applications open March of each year and close September of each year.

The Scholarship Program will run with the following parameters:

  • Support through the scholarship program will be awarded only to Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia;

  • It will be open to individuals who are currently residing in Victoria;

  • It shall promote, support and enhance the recipients’ education, creative and artistic development and skills;

Scholarships will be awarded on merit as well as on the basis of financial need
